
RE DESIGN – CARINGBRIDGE
As Lead UX Designer for the re-platform project of the top-performing pages, I significantly improved the user experience and increased Google Lighthouse accessibility scores.

Journal
Users wanted to journal with ease and speed, include their community, and control their privacy. Updates lead to a rise in impact with a 482% lift in number of follows by adding a popup, increased engagement of 6% in commenting by updating copy, and built community due to a 13% increase in site shares by implementing a helpful copy prompt.

Comments
Data driven insights through customer care feedback and user testing led to a complete UX/UI and technology overhaul which brought the page up from the #12 to the #8 most visited page, increased the average time spent on page by 30%, and decreased the bounce rate by 10%.

Search
Updated the UX/UI by implementing the design system and advanced the search technology by updating the algorithm. This gave the users both a better user experience with a 24% increase in page views and more accurate search results providing a decrease in bounce rate from 34% to 2%.

Gallery
Qualitative testing resulted in a new interface where users were able to upload their treasured photos with an improved user experience, allowing multiple uploads seamlessly, and providing data sorting by date.

Accessibility
Elevated the overall Google Lighthouse scores for accessibility and best practices from approximately 85% to 100%. Ensured designs and code were in compliance with Level AA guidelines for WCAG 2.1 standards though the use of screen reader software and digital tools.
